Moonlit
"Moonlit" is my inaugural 3D character animation project, marking a significant milestone in my journey to master Blender. This project involved creating a creature from concept, including modeling, sculpting, texturing, rigging, and animating the character within a custom environment.

Skills Showcased

Modelling and Sculpting
Blocked out the creature from references and sculpted detail to the face and body all in Blender.

Retopology
After the level of detail from Sculpting, re-topology was necessary to work with the mesh in animation.

Texturing
I opted to work on this texture procedurally in order get an organic scaly texture for the creature.

Rigging and Animation
Created and adjusted the rig for accurate weight distribution and natural movement using Rigify. For the animation, I mainly re-targeted Mixamo's animations and used the node graph to adjust the movement.

Background and Lighting
Created the background using arrays of trees, a light emitting moon and fog simulations. Created a compelling scene with dynamic lighting and camera work, achieving a balance of detail and mood.

Post-Production
Finalized the short using Davinci Resolve. Completed the colour corrections, soundscaping, musicalization and titles.
